Today, March 1st, 2018, is my day to post about Island Batik's newest collection by Tammy Silvers called Elementz! The colors are so bright and happy! It makes a girl feel like Spring might actually make an appearance in Minnesota one day soon! Here is a sneak peek of my latest and greatest pop up pattern... Windsock! Look for it in quilt shops very, very soon!
I decided to give my embroidery machine a try doing applique on a Spool Wallet. I love chickens and these are perfect in the bright colors in the Elementz design.
Next up is a fun Basket Pop Up I made using the Braid Template by Seam Like a Dream. All you need to do is make a braid following the instructions with the template a little larger than the side piece's dimension. Then apply stabilizer and trim down to size. Sew Cute!!
Don't be afraid to add a personal touch! I added this lucky little girl's name to the handle of this Medium Basket Pop Up.
How? I embroidered Rebecca on a wider piece and cut the handle piece out centering the name. You could applique or use fabric markers too!
